Homeopathy for a Change

What is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is an alternative system of medicine that has been used in many parts of the world for over 200 years.

Homeopaths believe that ill health starts when our natural inner balance is disrupted. This disruption causes us to produce symptoms - physical, mental or emotional - which are our body's way of telling us that something is wrong.

Each person becomes ill in their own particular way - even if three people get a cold, each one gets slightly different symptoms and feels differently about having it. The same principle applies to all our health problems - we each have our own unique pattern of illness - and it is this pattern that homeopathy aims to treat. Through the consultation, my role as a homeopath is to try and understand the person and their experience and find a homeopathic remedy that matches them as fully and deeply as possible.

Homeopathy uses tiny doses of natural substances to stimulate the body's own healing energy and restore balance. By "working from the inside" in this way, the cause of the symptoms is treated (unlike many conventional drugs that simply stop the symptoms from happening). Health and wellbeing are improved at a deep level, helping you to stay well for longer. You may also find that apparently unrelated problems improve at the same time, and that your overall level of energy increases.

If you would like to learn more about homeopathy, I regularly run a short "Introduction to Homeopathy" course in Sheffield where you can learn how to use homeopathic remedies to treat first aid and other everyday problems.
