What happens at a homeopathic consultation?
Homeopathy is concerned with you as a whole person, not only the problem that you come with. This means that the process of seeing a homeopath is very different to conventional treatment. Many people find it a very positive experience in its own right, quite apart from the benefits of the homeopathic remedies.An initial consultation takes up to two hours. We'll explore the areas of your health that are bothering you at the moment, and look in detail at the symptoms and how they are affecting you. (There will be no physical examination.) I'll also ask about other aspects of your life such as interests and hobbies, stresses and fears, sleep and dreams, food and drink. All this information will help me to build a picture of you, which is an essential part of finding the remedy that best matches you and your symptoms.
After the consultation you will be given a homeopathic remedy - either in tablets or drops. Remedies are made only from natural ingredients, and are safe and non-addictive, with no harmful side-effects.
You will usually need to come back for a number of shorter follow-up visits (approximately monthly) to review progress and complete your treatment. After this, many people find it helpful to continue to treatment on a less frequent basis in order to maintain their health and address any problems before they become well established.
